Later, my older sister and I moved to U.S in Anchorage, Alaska, where we reunited with our parents. I come from a traditional African family on both sides, deeply rooted in our Muslim faith, cultural values, and customs. I am the third of nine siblings, though sadly, we lost two of my brothers along the way. I graduated from Bartlett High School in Anchorage in May 2010, and went on to pursue higher education.
